....we came across a mysterious box along our path:
!!! It was a hiking log!!!
Which was almost full of logs, dating back to 2008!
Pretty darn excited about this hidden treasure, we add to the stories.
I suppose this is a pretty common thing along highly traveled routes, but I have never really hiked through a state park before so we were pretty excited to find this!

you know, I think I've seen boxes like these before but always thought they were probably butterfly or bat houses and wouldn't have disturbed them. What made you try to open it, and didn't you worry that some small animal was making a nest inside? :)
